Born in Montreal to a family where music and culture occupied a prominent place in daily life, VINCENT LAPOINTE revealed uncommon musical
skills and passion for orchestral music at a very early age. Key people in his environment detected quite soon his exceptional hearing memory and his overflowing
interest for music. An accomplished musician thoroughly inhabited by a real artistic depth, placing music in its fullest sense at the center of his approach,
he remains very demanding towards him and towards the musicians he works with. Very meticulous conductor with an authentic approach to his job, he knows how to
communicate his musical ideas with passion and energy. He is clearly and full-heartedly dedicated to music, and musicians follow him with enthusiasm.
VINCENT LAPOINTE trained at the Conservatoire de Musique de Montral. After graduating in 1985, he continued his studies in viola and chamber music at the Hochschule fr Musik (now Wiener Musik Universitt) in Vienna (Siegfried Fhrlinger, Rudolph Leopold). While in Vienna, he also studied conducting with Otmar Suitner and Karl sterreicher. He furthered his conducting training in Canada and the United States (The Pierre-Monteux School, Joseph Rescigno, Jorma Panula, Ivars Taurins, Marc David, Louis Lavigueur) while leading a career as teacher, orchestra player and conductor. With a rich experience as an orchestral musician, he possesses an exceptional knowledge and a thorough comprehension of the orchestral repertoire. He has conducted various ensembles in North America and has extended his commitment to youth en-sembles, along with his other professional engagements. VINCENT LAPOINTE enchants both musicians and public as he conducts on local, national and international stages. He is the founding Music Director of the Ensemble Novello and First Guest conductor with the Festival de musique de Lachine. contactez-nous | contact us | kontaktieren Sie uns |
